Charger GT Plus in White Knuckle over black Nappa leather with Alcantara, and the kilometres on this one are very low for a 2023. Four doors, rear-wheel drive, and a back seat and a trunk you can actually use, which is the trick the Charger pulled off better than anything else in its class. It is also one of the last of the gas Chargers, and that is not lost on anybody who has seen what replaced it.
Under the hood is the 3.6L Pentastar VVT V6 rated at 300 horsepower, running through the eight speed TorqueFlite automatic to the rear wheels, with Sport mode for when you want the throttle and the shifts to wake up. Nobody is going to mistake this for a HEMI car and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What it is, is a smooth rear-drive sedan with enough power to be interesting, and it will sit at highway speed on the 417 all day without making a fuss about it. One thing to be straight about: this is the rear-wheel-drive GT, so budget for a proper set of winter tires and it will be perfectly happy through an Ottawa February.
The Plus Group is where this car separates itself from a base GT. Nappa leather with Alcantara-faced front seats that both heat and ventilate, power front seats with memory for the seat and mirrors, a heated leather-wrapped performance steering wheel, a power tilt and telescoping column, premium stitched dash panel and LED lighting through the cabin. The Technology Group brings adaptive cruise control with stop, forward collision warning with active braking, lane departure warning with lane keep assist and automatic high beams, with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection on top of that. Navigation runs through Uconnect 4C on the 8.4-inch screen, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and SiriusXM. The power sunroof is fitted. The Blacktop Package is the reason it looks the way it does: satin black badging front and rear, a one-piece performance spoiler and 20-inch Black Noise aluminum wheels. Remote start, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, rear park assist, backup camera, dual-zone climate and rain-sensing wipers are all here. For what it is worth, the original window sticker on this exact car came to $57,945.
