At some point prior to 1998, the car received a cosmetic restoration and was refinished in silver over black leather. 2011: Acquired in well-preserved but worn condition and sent to renowned Mercedes-Benz 300 SL specialist Rudi Koniczek of Rudi and Company in Victoria, British Columbia for a comprehensive restoration. 2011 – 2013: Completely restored by Rudi and Company. The body and tubular-frame chassis were separated and stripped to bare metal, with new steel and aluminum panels incorporated where required. The car was returned to its factory-correct Light Blue DB 334 exterior with Red Leather 1079 interior and Dark Blue Roadster top. 2011 – 2013: The numbers-matching 3.0-litre fuel-injected inline-six was completely rebuilt.
